Mahant Ratan Das first initiated pupil of Gurudev

In order to discover the true path,he had been traveling through Bengal, Bihar,Orissa,U.P etc in search of a perfect Sant (Saint) and visited various locations but was unsuccessful.He arrived at Rawalpindi (West Pakistan) in July 1928 without coming across any saint. Quite dejected,he was contemplating seated under a tress by the bank of Lai rivulet that this sacred land of Vashist,Yagvalk,Gautam,Kanad, and Vyas etc. cannot be bereft of enlightened souls.Deeply dejected, he was talking to himself,"Is there no saint or enlightened soul at present on this earth who could remove the prevalent state of ignorance and darkness through the knowledge of self realization and show the true path.Sitting deeply engrossed in these thoughts,when suddenly Maharaj ji stood in front of him and clarified all his doubts and explained the secrets of spiritualism. Mahant Rattan Das was the custodian and Mahant of Kabir Dera at Ahmadabad and had the honour of being the first initiated pupil (follower) of Guru Maharaj.
